24 October, 2005
Microsoft has announced the release-to-web of Exchange Server
2003 Service Pack 2. Exchange Server 2003 SP2 includes a host
of new capabilities providing better protection, reliability
and easier administration of an organization's messaging infrastructure.
Additionally, SP2 will deliver significantly improved support
for mobile messaging. It delivers the mobile and administrative
functionality our customer's demand including enhanced email
improvements, better protection against spam and advanced
mailbox improvements. In addition, Sender ID and updates to
the Exchange Instant Message Filter will give businesses a
new arsenal of tools in the fight against spam, phishing and
spoofing schemes.
As a result of direct customer feedback, Exchange Server
2003 SP2 Standard Edition will increase the mailbox storage
size limit to 75 GB allowing customers more flexibility in
meeting the demands of mailbox storage needs. Microsoft partners
are extremely excited about the mobile messaging benefits
that SP2 will deliver as it will allow them to deliver a device
that not only can be easily integrated into an exiting IT
infrastructure without bringing additional costs, but also
meets the demands of the end user for a rich mobile messaging
experience.
